Moonshine has two meanings, of which one is a reflection, the second a global distillery network of enthusiasts. Love has only one meaning, of which there are numerous reflections or expressions.
MOONSHINE.LOVE is an online gallery of photography, music, stories and knowledge dedicated to studying some of these expressions.
I combine photography, music and stories in a creative fashion. Often I go on PhotoWalks inspired by Giovanni & Irina, whom I met at the Glück ist Jetzt store on Baumweg in Frankfurt maybe around 2012.
In Finland, there is also a mysterious radio station called LOVE FM. The founder stated that he wanted to do it in California, but it was too expensive and complicated there (2016). The station is currently not operational, but there is an online version on Youtube.
Love is a generic term and it cannot be trademarked. Everyone is free to make their own version.

MOONSHINE.LOVE evolved over the course of a few years. In 2022 there was an attempt to launch Moonshine-Magazine.com with several photographers, such as Sangeet in India. It didn’t work out, hence I shortened the domain name and started focussing more on my own work. This work remains in progress and will likely stay that way.
Moonshine became a theme after visiting the Karelia House in Helsinki in 2019.

Translation: “Even if our home was left behind, life ahead of us remained” -L.Törhönen
My grandparents from my maternal side also came from Karelia. The entire population was moved as the area was taken over by Russia after WW2, similar to German territories in the east.
There is also a good quote by Danish author Sören Kierkegaard.
“Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards” ~ Sören Kierkegaard
Inside the building there are several pieces of art and people meet there to dance, eat and socialize.
Two of the artworks inside. I cannot remember the names nor artists. The moon is a wall carpet or ‘ryijy’ in Finnish. The wood is carved in the form of waves.
I place these two pictures on top of each other and call it ‘Moonshine on Water’.

In 2020, while visiting Porvoo in Finland I found something on a coffee cup. It says “Fall in love with everyday life. Enjoy the moment”.
